Junior Crystal Draper Named Pacific-10 Conference Pitcher Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State University's Crystal Draper has been named Pacific-10 Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for May 7 - May 13, announced Commissioner Tom Hansen on Monday.

Draper, a junior from Parkdale, OR, pitched two complete game shutouts in Oregon State's victories against No. 4 ranked Stanford and No. 6 California. She faced a total of 53 batters, allowing just six hits while striking out nine.

With the victory against Cal in the regular season finale Draper earned her 28th win of the year, tying the OSU single season mark for victories.

Draper currently leads the Beavers with a 1.19 ERA and 188 strikeouts in 252 innings of work.

The Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honor is the fourth for Draper and her second of the season. Oregon State has now received 18 honors all-time.

The No. 14 ranked Beavers start NCAA Regional Tournament action Thursday when they face No. 4 seeded South Florida in Tuscaloosa, AL. First-pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. PDT.
