Hammer: Junior Scott Moser placed fifth, 194-4 and freshman Dan Ames was seventh, 190-10.

Long Jump: Freshman Oliver Jackson placed fourth (23-9 _) and fellow freshman Juaune Armon was sixth (23-2).

Shot Put: UCLA picked up 16 points in this event - junior Scott Moser placed second (62-0 _), freshman Dan Ames was fourth (61-3 _) and sophomore Scott Wiegand was sixth (59-5 _).

Pole Vault: Sophomore Jared Drake was third (17-3, personal-best) and freshman Yoo Kim placed fifth (16-11).

Javelin: Sophomore Nate Marum placed fourth, with a mark of 217-10.

Track Finals
3000mSC: senior Mason Moore placed eighth (9:07.82).

10,000m: Junior Bryan Green placed third (29:45.30) and senior Will Bernaldo was eighth (30:03.64).

Track Prelim Highlights
200m: Sophomore Michael Lipscomb placed second in heat two (21.27) and advanced to Sunday's final. Senior Bryan Harrison, who was sixth in his 100m heat after pulling up at the end of the race, was not able to run in the 200m prelims. He can still run on UCLA's 4 X 100m relay in Sunday's final.
400m: freshman Denye Versher placed third in heat one (47.48), advancing to Sunday's final and in heat two, freshman Rodney Diggs placed fourth 47.65 (advancing to Sunday's final), but fellow freshman Warren Rogers was fifth (47.77) and did not advance.
800m: Senior Paul Muite placed fourth in heat one (1:51.53) and qualified for Sunday's final.110m Hurdles � freshman Chuckie Ryan was second in heat two (14.08, ties season-best) and advances to Sunday's final.
400m Hurdles: UCLA advanced two to Sunday's final � in heat one, sophomore John Barbieri placed third (51.53, personal-best) and in heat two, senior John Hall placed first (51.08). Sophomore Kyle Erickson, who entered the meet with the conference's top time (50.54), was disqualified in heat one (trail leg violation).
B UCLA's relay of freshmen Denye Versher and Warren Rogers, sophomore Michael Lipscomb and senior Bryan Harrison ran 40.23, finishing second in heat two, and advancing to Sunday's final.
