Washington Gymnasts Honored at Annual Banquet

Seattle, WA - Washington senior Mandi Klug (Clarkston) was named the Most Valuable Gymnast at the Huskies' annual award banquet on Saturday. Klug was one of two gymnasts to qualify for the NCAA Championships in 2001. She became just the fourth Washington gymnast to record a 10.000 during her career, scoring it on floor exercise. Klug was also honored as the winner of the team's Most Inspirational and Most Improved awards.

Freshman Emily Pritchard (Buckley) was named the Rookie of the Year. Pritchard scored a 39.500 in the all-around, the highest mark ever recorded by a Washington freshman. Molly Seaman (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) was named the team's Most Promising Freshman.

Senior Jessica Schedler (LaCrosse, Wis.) was named the winner of the 101 Club's Scholar Athlete Award winner. Freshman Amy Metcalf (Yakima) received the Outstanding Scholar Athlete award.
