PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State tennis team will be well represented when the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships begin this week at the Lincoln Tennis Center in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Junior Erica Perkins (Seattle) makes her second career appearance in singles, beginning Monday. Perkins, ranked 36th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), faces 54th-ranked Joanne Masongsong of Texas.

Perkins has 24 singles victories this season and is one of 64 players selected for the singles championship. She became the first player in WSU history to participate in the championship in 1999.

Senior Ana Maria Moura (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and freshman Stacy McKenna (North Bend, Ore.) will begin their quest for the NCAA Doubles Championship, Tuesday.

Ranked 30th by the ITA, the duo will have a tough draw in the opening round of the 32-team field as they face Stanford's Laura Granville and Gabriela Lastra, the nation's second-ranked doubles team.

Moura and McKenna are the first doubles team in WSU history to participate in the doubles championship.
