Pryce, Monroe Help U.S. Under-21s Sweep Mexico

GUASAVE, Mexico - UCLA women's soccer players Nandi Pryce and Mary-Frances Monroe recently helped the Under-21 U.S. National Team notch two convincing victories over the full Mexican Women's National Team.

Pryce, who missed much of her freshman year at UCLA due to an injury suffered just five games into the season, started in Team USA's 2-1 victory over Mexico in Guasave on May 13.

Monroe, a transfer from Connecticut who will join UCLA in 2001, started in a 2-1 U.S. victory over Mexico in Tepic on May 11. She also came in as a sub in the May 13 match in Guasave.

In the May 13 victory, the U.S. got two goals from Abby Wambach and one from DevvynHawkins to register a 3-1 win.

On May 11, the U.S. received two goals in the second half, both from forward Katie Barnes, to come from behind and defeat Mexico, 2-1
