Two Softball Players Earn NCAA All-Regional Tournament Honors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Senior Shawna Feldt and sophomore Shelly Prochaska were named to the NCAA Softball All-Regional Tournament team late Sunday night, for their efforts in Oregon State's three Regional games.
Feldt, a shortstop, earns her second consecutive All-Regional honors after gaining accolades in 2000. She ranked second to all players competing in the six-team tournament with a .556 batting average (5-for-9) and had a .600 on base percentage. Feldt belted a double and knocked in two runs in OSU's three games. Oregon State's all-time leader in runs scored, Feldt crossed the plate three times to raise her total to 103 runs scored in her career.
Feldt finishes her senior season as the only Beaver player batting over .300, with a .308 season batting average.
Prochaska, a utility player, gains her first All-Regional Tournament honors after ranking in the tournament top-15 for batting with a .375 average (3-for-8). Prochaska led all Oregon State players with four runs batted in and improved her overall season batting average to .287 after having played in all 69 games for the Beavers.
Melissa Taylor of University of Michigan (Tournament Champion) earned Most Valuable Player honors after batting .533 (8-for-15) over a span of four games.
