Bruins in Second Place after First Round at NCAA Women's Golf Championships

The UCLA women's golf team posted a score good enough for second place in the first round of the NCAA Championships, hosted by Stetson University at El Campeon Golf Course near Orlando, FL.

The Bruins posted a team score of 295, seven-over par, and trail Oklahoma State by two shots. USC is third at 296, followed Georgia, Stanford and Texas, which are tied for fourth at 298.

Individually, senior Laura Moffat fired a three-under par score of 69 and leads the field. Freshman Melissa Martin is tied for 14th place at 73, one-over par and classmate Gina Umeck is tied for 32nd at 75. Senior Leilani Bagby shot a 78 and freshman Saki Uechi posted an 80.

Oklahoma State's Maria Boden and Pepperdine's Lindsay Wright are tied for second place at two-under par 70, followed by 10 players tied for fourth at even par.
