Moore and Rainey Move Into NCAA Quarterfinals

ATHENS, Ga. - For the second-consecutive year, USC's Ryan Moore and Nick Rainey advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship with a win on Saturday, May 26, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

The 11th-ranked duo defeated Marco Baron and Chris McDonald of Mississippi State 6-3, 6-4 in the Round of 16 for the right to advance.

Moore and Rainey (5-8 seed) will face a familiar opponent in the next round. Top-seeded Huntley Montgomery and Brian Vahaly of Virginia defeated Stanford's K.J. Hippensteel and Alex Kim 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 this afternoon to play tomorrow. Moore and Rainey previously defeated the Virginia duo 8-5 in the first round of the NCAA Team Tournament.
