Stanford and Texas will square off in Saturday's winners bracket game at 3:00 p.m., while Marist and Long Beach State will play an elimination game on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. ... The winner of Saturday's 3:00 p.m. game will advance to Sunday's regional championship game at 1:00 p.m. ... The winner of Saturday's 11:00 a.m. game will play the loser of Saturday's 3:00 p.m. game at 7:00 p.m. ... The winner of Saturday's 7:00 p.m. game will advance to the Sunday's regional championship game.

Texas 11, Long Beach State 2 - Texas opened the regional with an 11-2 victory over Long Beach State on Friday . Gerrit Simpson (6-5) tossed a complete game, scattering nine hits and giving up two runs, while tying a career-high with 12 strikeouts. Sam Anderson (3-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI) led the Longhorns' 11-hit offensive attack.

Stanford 4, Marist 3 - Sam Fuld squeezed home Chris O'Riordan on a 2-2 pitch in the bottom of the seventh to lift Stanford to a 4-3 victory over Marist. Fuld (2-3, 3B, 2 RBI) also had a game-tying triple in bottom of the fifth inning and was the only Cardinal with more than one hit. Jeremy Guthrie (11-4) picked up the victory for Stanford, scaterring nine hits and three runs in 7.1 innings.

The winners advancing of each of the nation's 16 regionals will advance to eight NCAA Super Regionals on June 1-3 (Friday-Sunday). The eight Super Regional winners advance to the 55th College World Series to be held June 8-16 (Friday-Saturday) at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. Super Regional sites will be announced on Monday, May 28.
