Pac-10 Teams In NCAA Track & Field Championships (6/4/01)

The USC TROJANS, bolstered by Angela Williams' record-setting performance in the 100 meters,
scored 64 points to capture their first ever women's NCAA track and field title (May 31-June 2) at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. UCLA was second with 55 points, and ARIZONA finished third with 44. Tennessee won by one point over Texas Christian to claim the men's championship.The STANFORD men placed fourth, host Oregon finished ninth, while ARIZONA STATE and CALIFORNIA also finished in the Top 25.

In the 100 meters, Williams edged UCLA' Shakedia Jones, 11.05 to 11.10 (wind-aided), to become the first woman to ever win the race three consecutive years at the NCAA Championships.
