Baseball's Carlos Quentin And Sam Fuld Named Freshmen All-American

Durham, N.C. - Stanford freshmen outfielders Carlos Quentin and Sam Fuld added to their honors by being named Freshmen All-American by Baseball America as the publication announced its 2001 Freshmen All-American team on Tuesday.
Quentin, a native of Chula Vista, Calif., earned First Team honors as he hit .345 with 11 homers, 52 RBI and five stolen bases. He was earlier named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Pac-10 and a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball and Baseball Weekly.
Fuld, a native of Durham, New Hampshire, earned Second Team honors as he hit .357 with 37 RBI and 11 stolen bases. He was earlier named an All-Pac-10 choice, a Third Team All-American by the NCBWA and a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
