Tafoya Agrees to Three-Year Deal with Tampa Bay

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Defensive end Joe Tafoya, a seventh-round draft pick fromArizona, signed a three-year contract Wednesday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tafoya had 165 tackles, 24 sacks and 49 tackles for losses in four seasonswith the Wildcats.

The signing leaves the Bucs with three unsigned draft choices, first-roundoffensive tackle Kenyatta Walker, fourth-round safety John Howell andseventh-round tight end Dauntae' Finger.

First-year defensive end Matt Sweeney was released. He failed a teamphysical after injuring a shoulder this summer while playing for NFL Europe'sAmsterdam Admirals.
