Ram Restaurant Fundraiser to Benefit Curtis Williams Fund

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Curtis Williams Fund, named for the former Washington Husky safety thatsustained a severe spinal cord injury in an on-the-field incident last year,has been named as sole beneficiary for the Ram Restaurant's annual Huskyseason kickoff event. The event is scheduled for Monday August 13 at theRam Restaurant at 4730 University Village in Seattle. The event isscheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.
The $100.00 per plate function is open to the public and includes a hostedcocktail hour, a special menu prepared by the Ram's Executive Chef's andspeeches from Washington coaches Rick Neuheuisel, Bob Bender and JuneDaugherty. Guests will also be able to bid on the opportunity to dine withthe coaches at the event. Reservations are available by calling theUniversity of Washington Athletic Department at (206) 543-2210.
A senior defensive back at Washington last season, Williams suffered asevere spinal cord injury during the Huskies' October 28, 2000 football gameat Stanford that left him paralyzed below the neck. Williams was admitted tothe Stanford University Medical Center following the injury and hadundergone rehabilitation therapy at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Centersince mid-November before returning home to his family in Fresno inFebruary.
