TEMPE, Ariz. -- Those planning to attend ASU football practices this week at Camp Tontozona should note the following construction advisory:
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and D.H. Blattner & Sons Inc. continue road construction on State Route 260 in the Preacher Canyon Area. This is a continuing series of construction alerts that will be issued throughout the construction project. These alerts will announce construction and detour information as it affects traffic.
1. WEEK OF AUGUST 13th TRAFFIC SWITCH:
During the week of August 13th, traffic will be switched from the existing highway to the newly constructed eastbound alignment on State Route 260 in the Preacher Canyon area (milepost 260-263). Motorists should be alert for flaggers and DPS officers directing alternate one-way traffic through the work area and anticipate delays of up to 45 minutes. The majority of the traffic impacts will occur on Tuesday, August 14th, from early morning until late at night. After the traffic switch is complete, delays will be minimal and traffic will continue to be one-lane in each direction until the westbound alignment is completed.
2. OVERSIZED AND WIDE VEHICLES:
Vehicles over 12 feet wide must contact DH Blattner at 520-468-2004. Please give at least 24-hour notice.
Motorists traveling in the area are asked to please obey the posted speedlimit signs and be alert for construction equipment and personnel workingalong the highway.
