USA Volleyball Defeats Germany 3-0 At World Grand Prix

Harbin, China - The U.S. women's national volleyball team completed a three-game sweep of Germany at the 2001 Women's World Grand Prix in Harbin, China before a crowd of 3,900. Game scores were 25-22, 25-19, 25-19.

U.S. middle blocker Heather Bown led all players with 13 points, followed by teammate Danielle Scott's 12 points. Stanford University's Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, Utah) finished with 10 points for the match.

The U.S. outblocked Germany 12 to four for the match while registering seven service aces as well.

Angelina Gruen led the Germans with 10 points followed by Hanka Pachale's nine points.

The match lasted only one hour and 11 minutes.
