TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State football player Terrell Suggs has been named to the Rotary Lombardi Award watch list announced Thursday by the committee.
The award is given out annually to a college football lineman -- offense or defense -- who, in addition to displaying outstanding performance and ability, bests exemplifies the character and discipline of Vince Lombardi.
Suggs, a sophomore rush end from Chandler, Arizona, became just the second true freshman in ASU history to start the first game of the season last year. Suggs also earned Pacific-10 Conference Freshman of the Year honors after posting 48 total tackles, including 41 unassisted. Additionally, he led the Sun Devils in sacks (10) and tackles for loss (16).
