Oregon will encounter its first road trip this season when it plays Wednesday at Idaho (0-1) at 3 p.m. and Friday at Montana (1-1) at 4 p.m. PST. The Vandals are coming off a 4-2 road loss last Saturday to Boise State while the Grizzlies, an NCAA Tournament team in 2000, defeated Toledo 3-2 at home.

Bill Steffen is in his sixth year as the Ducks' coach and has directed Oregon since the program's inaugural season in 1996. He has a 28-61-7 record in six years. In 1999, the Ducks finished with a 7-11-1 mark - the best record in school history.

Oregon leads the series 2-0 over Idaho. In the Ducks' 4-1 victory last season, they scored three first-half goals. Oregon's Mary Cascio scored first on a perfect pass from Annie Murphy in the sixth minute. Chalise Baysa headed a ball in the back of the net on a headed pass from Melissa Parker to give Oregon a 2-0 lead in the ninth minute. Crystal David and Beth Bowler also scored. The Vandals, who outshot the Ducks 10-8 in the first half, only had two in the second half compared to Oregon's 13. The teams first met in 1999 resulting in a 2-1 Oregon victory at Eugene.

The Grizzlies lead the series 2-0, which includes last year's 1-0 win at Eugene. In that match, Montana's Heather Olson scored the only goal on a free kick that found the right corner of the net in the 17th minute. Oregon outshot Montana 16-10, including 10-5 in the second half. A handful of the Ducks' shots hit the crossbar. Beth Bowler led Oregon with five shots while Crystal David had three.
