Beaver Athletic Scholarship Fund Appoints Greg Bistline

Corvallis, Ore. - Greg Bistline (pronounced BISE-line) has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Oregon State University, Director of Athletics Mitch Barnhart announced Monday.

Bistline's responsibilities include handling the day-to-day operations of the Beaver Athletic Scholarship Fund and assisting in various fundraising efforts within the department.

'We are excited to have a person of Greg's caliber join our development efforts,' Associate Director of Athletics for Development Greg Byrne said. 'We have many important projects over the next several years that Greg will play an important role in.'

Bistline has spent the last eight years in a similar position at the University of California-Irvine. He has also served in the athletic administrations at Cal State-Dominguez Hills, Cal State-Fullerton, Loyola Marymount, and Loyola College in Maryland. In addition, Bistline has served as a student-athlete academic counselor at the University of Texas and the University of Missouri.

He began his professional career as an assistant football coach at Indiana State University in 1979, and spent two seasons on the football staff at the University of New Mexico.

Bistline received two bachelors' degrees in business administration and forestry from Missouri in 1976 and 1977, and his Master's degree in 1981.
