Three Pac-10 teams are ranked in the latest national polls -- No. 2/No. 7 WASHINGTON (3-1-0), No. 10/No. 22 UCLA (2-1-1) and No. 14/No. 3 STANFORD (4-0-0)... All Pac-10 schools are home this week. CALIFORNIA hosts Cal Poly while OREGON STATE takes on Sacramento State and San Diego State. UCLA plays CS Fullerton and WASHINGTON hosts Seattle University. STANFORD is idle this week.

UCLA junior forward Tim Pierce has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 4-10, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced.

Pierce, from Dana Point, Calif., was named Most Valuable Player of the USF Diadora Classic over the weekend, leading the Bruins to a pair of wins and the team title. He tallied two goals on the weekend, including the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Santa Clara Sept. 9. Pierce notched the game's second goal in a 4-0 win over host San Francisco Sept. 7. He has scored a goal in three consecutive matches.

UCLA (2-1-1) is ranked 10th by Soccer America this week and is No. 22 in the NSCAA/adidas poll.

This is the first weekly honor for Pierce and UCLA's fifth Player of the Week honor all-time.
