Women's Soccer Falls, 1-0, At San Diego

Sept. 18, 2001

SAN DIEGO - Katie Allen scored from 30 yards out off a turnover by freshman defender Kaitlyn Pruett as the No. 18 San Diego Toreros defeated the USC Trojans, 1-0, in nonconference women's soccer action at Torero Stadium. Pruett attempted a pass to USC goalkeeper Shaelyn Fernandes, but was too soft as Allen collected the ball and sailed a shot over the diving Fernandes with the goal at 67:19.

San Diego improves to 5-0 on the season while USC falls to 1-3. The Women of Troy have scored only three goals in its first four games of the season.

The game was recently added to the schedule after last week's tragic events on the East Coast.

The Women of Troy will host UC Irvine on Friday (Sept. 21) at 3 p.m. and Oakland on Sunday (Sept. 23) at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at McAlister Field. For ticket information, contact the USC ticket office at (213) 740-GOSC.
