Men's Golf Ties For Fourth At Tucker Intercollegiate

Senior Kevin Stadler shot a three-under-par 213 to lead the No. 12 USC men's golf team to a tie for fourth place at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate held in Albuquerque, New Mex., on Sept. 21-22 (Sat.-Sun.).
The Trojans shot 872, 13 strokes back of tourney champ New Mexico (859). Pepperdine was second (870) followed by Arizona (871), USC and UNLV (872), then San Diego State (876).
Stadler, who shot a third-round 68, tied Jason Allred of Pepperdine for fourth place individually, just four strokes back from medalist Manuel Merizalde of BYU (209). Wil Collins and Michael Letzig of New Mexico tied for second (212).
Also for USC, freshman Ben Hayes tied for 10th after shooting a one-over-par 217. Junior Chris Botsford (221) tied for 25th, while junior David Oh tied for 51st (225) and junior Scott Oxandabaire tied for 53rd (226).
The Trojans are next in action at the Red River Classic in Dallas, Tex., on Oct. 8-9.
