Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week (9/25/01)

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- CALIFORNIA freshman midfielder Kacy Hornor hasbeen named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 17-23,Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Hornor, from San Francisco, Calif., posted three goals and an assist onthe weekend, helping the Golden Bears to a pair of 3-1 road victoriesover UNLV and San Diego State. Against the Rebels Sept. 21, Hornortallied two goals, including her first collegiate goal and thegame-winner. She earned her first collegiate start against the Aztecs,responding with the game-winning goal and an assist on Cal's final goal.

Honor is third on the team with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) andpaces all Cal freshmen. The No. 6/No. 8 Golden Bears (6-1-0) return hometo face Fresno State Sept. 28 at Edwards Stadium.

This is Hornor's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor andCalifornia's 10th women's soccer Player of the Week honor all-time.
