Oregon Volleyball Swept By Washington State

EUGENE - The University of Oregon volleyball team fell 30-24, 30-21, 30-22 to Washington State in front of 622 fans at McArthur Court Saturday evening. Oregon is 8-5 overall, 0-4 Pac-10 and the Cougars improve to 7-4, 2-2.

Oregon senior Monique Tobbagi led the Ducks offensively with 10 kills and added seven digs and two blocks. Junior transfer Stephanie Martin had a career-high 10 digs to lead the Ducks defensively. As a team, Oregon had 37 kills to Washington State's 48, but the Ducks outblocked the Cougars 8-4. Matin led all players with five blocks.

Washington State senior LaToya Harris had a match-high 13 kills and the Cougars had 12 service aces, including three by Harris and four by Adrian Hankoff.

Oregon travels to the bay area next week, taking on Stanford Thursday at 7 p.m. and California Friday at 7 p.m.
