Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- ARIZONA STATE freshman forward Stephanie Peel has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 24-Oct. 1, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Peel, from Plano, Texas, posted two goals and added two assists in ASU's two wins over the weekend, as the Sun Devils captured the team title at the Traditional Bank Invitational Tournament in Lexington, Ky. The 2-0 shutout of 12th-ranked and host Kentucky was the biggest road win in the school's history.
Against the Wildcats Sept. 28, Peel netted her first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game-winner, and assisted on ASU's second goal. She added another goal and an assist against Furman Sept. 30. Peel was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts.
Peel currently leads the team in assists (4), is third in goals (2) and third in total points (8). Arizona State stands at 6-2-0 overall, and returns to action Thursday when it hosts Northern Arizona at 7 p.m.
This is Peel's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and Arizona State's fourth women's soccer Player of the Week honor all-time.
