Seattle - The Washington women's basketball team, NCAA regional finalists last year, have been tabbed at No. 12 in the first preseason poll released by The Women's Basketball Journal.
The magazine's editors selected perennial power Connecticut to win its third national championship and also placed two teams from the SEC and the Big 12 in the Top 5 of the publication's preseason rankings. From the Pac-10, Stanford checked in at No. 9 and Arizona State at No. 17.
