WSU Tennis Plays Well At All-American Invitational

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.--Ranked players Erica Perkins and Stacy McKenna both went 1-1 in the qualifying singles bracket at the Riviera Women's All-American Championships played at the Riviera Tennis Club.

In the first qualifying round, Erica Perkins, ranked 24th nationally, was a No. 1 seed and defeated No. 59 Sarah Witten of Kentucky, 6-4, 7-5.

Stacy McKenna, No. 83, beat No. 88 Rebecca Forney from Texas, 6-3, 7-5.

The second round of qualifying was not as successful as the first round for the Cougars. In a 6-1, 6-1 loss, Perkins was defeated by Georgia's Agata Cioroch, ranked 58th.

McKenna suffered a loss at the hands of No. 100 Mira Radu from Mississippi, 6-4, 6-0.

Perkins and McKenna, the 27th ranked doubles tandem, will play in the doubles qualifying bracket as well.
