'This is a fun event and means a lot to Stanford Baseball,' said Cardinal head coach Mark Marquess. 'Our alumni has contributed so much to our program over the years. It's a great way to bring the old and the new from our baseball program together.'
'It's really fun for our current players to interact with the guys that are still in professional baseball, as well as some of the real old-timers,' continued Marquess. 'It's nice to have the event again after a two-year break due to the construction of our field.'
The 2002 Stanford Baseball team started fall practice on Monday, October 8. The fall session will continue through Sunday, November 4.
The Cardinal, runners-up at the College World Series in each of the last two seasons, will open the 2002 campaign February 1-3 with a three-game series versus Cal State Fullerton at Sunken Diamond.
