LOS ANGELES - Freshmen Megan Kakadelas and Kelly Blais scored in the first 11 minutes Sunday as the No. 22 USC Trojans defeated the Arizona Wildcats, 2-0, in Pac-10 Conference action at McAlister Field. The Women of Troy now have a seven-game unbeaten streak heading into next Sunday's showdown at No. 2 UCLA.

Kakadelas opened the scoring at 5:29 on a header in front off a pass from sophomore Amanda Roach. Blais completed the scoring at 10:21 for the Trojans (7-3-1, 2-0) when her corner kick pulled Arizona (3-7-1, 0-2) goalkeeper Shannon Monti over the goal line.

USC dominated the match with an 18-3 advantage in shots.

'This was a great weekend for us to start conference play,' said USC Head Coach Jim Millinder. 'Our freshmen keep getting better every game. We dominated them today, but we have to continue to play hard all the time.'

Senior goalkeeper Shaelyn Fernandes faced only one shot in the first half while freshman Julie Peterson played the second half for the Trojans.

The Trojans will play the Bruins on Sunday (Oct. 21) at Drake Stadium at 1 p.m.
