WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC sophomore middle blocker Katie Olsovsky has been named the Pac-10 Player of the Week for October 8 - 14, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Olsovsky, from Torrance, Calif., led the Trojans in two wins over fourth-ranked Stanford and California. She hit .667 with 21 kills (3.00 kpg), 18 digs (2.57 dpg) and seven blocks (1.00 bpg). Her .667 attack percentage in both matches included just one error in 30 attempts in seven games.

Against the Cardinal, Olsovsky recorded her first double-double of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs. She followed that performance up by hitting .733 (11-0-15) - a mark which ranks fifth among USC individual match records.

She currently ranks fifth in the Pac-10 in blocks, averaging 1.28 blocks per game. Olsovsky's outstanding efforts also helped her win AVCA Player of the Week.

It was the second weekly honor in Olsovsky's career, USC's 26th honor all-time.
