McElrath Named To AA Team

PULLMAN, Wash. -- - Washington State University wide receiver Nakoa McElrath was named this week to ABC Sports Online's 2001 Midseason All-America team.

McElrath, who is on pace to set two WSU single season records, has made 39 receptions in the first six games for 633 yards and eight touchdowns.

At his current pace of 6.50 catches per game and 105.50 yards per game, McElrath will better Cougar coach Mike Levenseller's school record 67 receptions in 1976, and Tim Stallworth's record of 1,151 yards in 1988.

The senior wide receiver currently ranks ninth in reception yardage and 19th in total receptions. In addition, he is one touchdown reception behind national leader Billy McMullen from Virginia, who has nine scoring receptions in six games.
