Tim Pierce Named Pac-10 Player Of The Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. - UCLA junior forward Tim Pierce has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 8-15, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Pierce, from Dana Point, Calif., helped lead the Bruins to a 2-0 Pac-10 start over the weekend, with victories over No. 2 Stanford and California. Against the previously unbeaten Cardinal on Oct. 14, Pierce came off the bench to score the game-winning goal with 1:12 left in regulation, as UCLA upset Stanford 2-1. Pierce registered two shots as the Bruins posted a 2-0 shutout over the Golden Bears in their Pac-10 opener Oct. 12.
UCLA (6-4-2, 2-0-0), ranked 20th in this week's Soccer America poll, travels to Washington and Oregon State this weekend.
This is the second weekly honor for Pierce and UCLA's sixth Player of the Week honor all-time.
