THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS Things aren't the same in women's collegiate volleyball this season. The NCAA scoring committee adopted rally scoring for the 2001 season. The first four games will be played to 30 and a point will be scored everytime the ball is put into play, regardless of which team served. A fifth game, if necessary, will be played to 15 points. Let scoring was also adopted, meaning if the ball grazes the net on a serve but still goes over, it remains in play.
A LOOK AT ARIZONA STATE The Sun Devils have struggled since sweeping Oregon in their Pac-10 opener. Since then, Arizona State has dropped six matches.
