Men's Tennis Hosts The Thunderbirds Collegiate Tennis Invitational

The Arizona State men's tennis program will host the seventh annual Thunderbirds Collegiate Tennis Invitational, Friday, October 19 through Sunday, October 21 at the Whiteman Tennis Center.

The tournament will showcase some of the most competitive men's singles and doubles players from around the country. The seven participating schools include: Arizona State, Arizona, Arkansas, Loyola Marymount, Northern Arizona, Rice and Utah.

The format will feature a 16-player single elimination draw with consolation play for first-round losers. Doubles play will also be featured in the three-day tournament. Singles will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday with the main draw starting at 11:00 a.m.

The tournament is sponsored by the Phoenix Thunderbirds, who promote the city of Phoenix, by sponsoring athletic events and providing financial assistance to amateur athletes and youth oriented charities.

Additionally, the Thunderbirds sponsor the ASU/Thunderbird Collegiate Golf tournament held every year at the Karsten Golf Course on the campus of Arizona State.
