Golfers Finish 16th at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - Kathy Cho shot a 3-over 75 Sunday as the Oregon women's golf team finished 16th at the Stanford/Pepsi Invitational, being played at the par-72, 6,154-yard Stanford Golf Course.
For the tournament, Cho, a senior from Honolulu, Hawaii, had rounds of 79-74-75 to tie for 44th at 228.
'Kathy played very well the last two rounds,' said Oregon coach Shannon Rouillard. 'It was fun to watch her confidence come through.'
Freshman Johnna Nealy of Grants Pass, Ore., had a final round 79 to tie for 76th at 240, while junior Kim Melrose finished 79th at 241 after carding a 79 on Sunday.
Tulsa ran away with the team title, shooting a 285 Sunday to defeat USC and Vanderbilt by 17 strokes. The Golden Hurricane finished the three-day event with an 855 total, with USC and Vanderbilt tied at 872, Washington at 874 and UCLA at 875.
Oregon's 946 total easily outdistanced Washington State's last place 969.
The Ducks return to action for the final time this fall Oct. 30-31 at the Hawaii Fall Golf Classic.
