Rowing Opens Fall Season at Head of the Charles

BOSTON -- The USC women's rowing team took part in the annual Head of the Charles today (Sunday, Oct. 21) and competed among the top college and international teams. The varsity eight placed 10th in the Championship Eight race for women with a time of 16:52.570, the eighth best time among collegiate entries.

The United States National Team swept the competition finishing first in a time of 16:01.690. Trailing by nine seconds, Princeton came in second and was followed by the London Training Center (16:17.759), Ohio State (16:30.610) and Yale (16:34.850) to round-out the top five. The Women of Troy's time of 16:52.570 was good for 10th out of 53 entries in the race.

USC will finish fall season competition at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival on Sunday, Nov. 4, in Newport Beach, Calif.
