No. 3 Women's Volleyball Sweeps Sacramento State 3-0

Stanford, Calif. - The third-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team won its 13th consecutive home match tonight with a convincing 3-0 sweep of Sacramento State in Maples Pavilion. Game scores were 30-21, 30-22, 38-36.
The Cardinal improve to 19-2 overall while the Hornets drop to 16-7 on the year.
In game one, Stanford jumped out to a 10-3 lead forcing a Sacramento State timeout. The Cardinal continued to push forward getting to 17-8 on a service ace by Logan Tom. A kill by freshman Ogonna Nnamani put Stanford at 20-12. Junior Ashley Ivy's kill at 28-21 got the Cardinal to game point. A Hornet hitting error gave Stanford the 30-21 win. The Cardinal hit .516 in game one.
Game two remained close until Stanford ran off four points to go up 13-9 and force a Sac State timeout. Back-to-back Logan Tom kills gave the Cardinal the 23-15 advantage while a kill by Sara Dukes put Stanford up 25-18. The Hornets rallied off three consecutive points to close within four at 21-25 and coach John Dunning took a timeout. The Cardinal came out and scored three straight points to get to 28-21. Another Dukes kill gave Stanford game point at 29-22. Once again, a Sacramento State error put the Cardinal up 30-22 for the win.
Game three saw the two teams battle back and forth, tying at 5-all and again at 16-all with neither team gaining more than a two-point advantage. Stanford pulled ahead 22-20 on a Ogonna Nnamani kill but Sac State took the lead at 23-22 on a block. With the Hornets leading 28-26, Stanford got key kills by Tara Conrad and Logan Tom to tie the game at 28-all and reached match point on a block by Conrad and Dukes. But Sacramento State fought back and the two teams traded points until the Hornets took the 35-34 advantage on a kill to reach game point. Stanford remained calm while Tom knocked down a kill to tie the game back up at 36-all. Back-to-back kills by Nnamani gave the Cardinal the 38-36 win on its seventh match point.
Stanford was led by Ogonna Nnamani's career-high 20 kills followed by Logan Tom's 12 kills. Tara Conrad added nine kills and a team-high four blocks. Tom and Emily Lawrence added 10 digs each. Setter Anna Robinson tallied 47 assists on the night as well as four kills and two service aces.
Sacramento State was led by Kazmiera Imrie's nine kills and four blocks. Jayme Wright had a match-high 12 digs as well.
Stanford next travels to the Pacific Northwest to face Oregon and Oregon State in league action.
