Women's Basketball Picked To Finish Seventh In Pac-10 Media Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State University's women's basketball team was picked to finish seventh in the 2001-02 Pacific-10 Conference media poll, as was announced Thursday and senior guard Felicia Ragland earned Preseason All-Pac-10 recognition.
The Beavers received 85 points in the voting, while Stanford, who tied for first place in the Pac-10 with Arizona State and Washington last season, was predicted to repeat as champion with 206 points and 19 first place votes.
Oregon State returns seven players from last season's 16-13 squad, including Pac-10 Player of the Year and honorable mention Kodak All-American Felicia Ragland.
Adding to her list of honors, Ragland was one of five players named to the Preseason All-Pac-10 Team. UCLA's Michelle Greco, Stanford's Nicole Powell, USC's Ebony Hoffman and Shaquala Williams of Oregon, join Ragland on the squad.
Oregon State opens its season on Sunday with an exhibition game against KSC Szekszard. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
