STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Megan Abbamonto scored her fourth goal of the season Friday as the No. 23 USC Trojans played to a 1-1 tie against the No. 4 Stanford Cardinal in Pac-10 Conference action at Maloney Field. Abbamonto scored an unassisted goal at 16:23, giving the Trojans a 1-0 lead. But Marcie Ward tied the match at 46:48 off a cross on the right side by Marcia Wallis.

With the tie, the Women of Troy (10-5-2, 5-2-1 Pac-10) are eliminated from a chance to win a share of the Pac-10 Conference title, but should be a lock to earn its fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Cardinal (13-2-2, 6-1-1) will play UCLA on Sunday for a chance to win a share of the conference title.

Senior goalkeeper Shaelyn Fernandes and Stanford's Carrie Walsh made five saves each.

The Trojans travel to California for their final regular-season match on Sunday (Nov. 11) at 11:30 a.m. USC will return home and await the NCAA Tournament selection show on Monday (Nov. 12) at noon on selected FOX Sports Net channels.
