Women's Tennis posts four singles victories on final day of tourney

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Arizona freshman Maja Mlakar defeated Texas A&M's Marjorie Terburgh, 6-4, 6-2, Sunday to improve her record to 3-0 at the Eck Classic.

UA sophomores Perrine Pernin and Debbie Larocque and freshman Marie-Pier Pouliot accounted for the other three Wildcat victories. Pernin tripped up A&M's Roberta Spencer, 6-3, 6-0, while Pouliot topped A&M's Leah Killen, 6-2, 7-5. Larocque notched a victory after No. 71-ranked Jessica Roland of Texas A&M retired in the second set leading, 6-1, 2-2.

The Cats will return to action Jan. 18-21, to open the spring season at the Pac-10 Indoor Championships in Seattle.
