UCLA's Duncan Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UCLA senior forward Staci Duncan has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Nov. 5-11, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Duncan, from San Jose, Calif., scored the game-winning goal in the Bruins' 1-0 victory over No. 4 Stanford on Nov. 11. With the victory, UCLA captured the 2001 Pac-10 title and received a No. 3 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Duncan has five goals and two assists on the season and ranks fourth on the team with 12 points. She joins three other Bruins with two game-winning goals this season.
UCLA (17-2 overall, 8-1 Pac-10) hosts NCAA first and second round action this weekend, with Pepperdine, USC and Cal State Fullerton visiting Westwood. The Bruins take on the Titans Friday at 2 p.m. The second round match is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m.
This is Duncan's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and UCLA's eighth women's soccer Player of the Week honor all-time.
