Health Of Cougar Players Improving

PULLMAN, Wash. -- 'I believe we will be as healthy as we have been since before the Stanford game (Oct. 6),' Washington State football coach Mike Price said Wednesday afternoon as his team continued to prepare for Saturday's Apple Cup game with the Washington Huskies.

'Right now I expect every player to be ready. There is something magical about how players recover from injuries when the Apple Cup is the next game,' offered Price. He also said he expected Minnich and Price to return to the starting lineup for WSU's final regular season game.

The list of players who are listed as probable include:

Quarterback Jason Gesser (recovering from a concussion in last week's ASU game),Running back Dave Minnich (recovering from knee surgery Oct. 10),Linebacker James Price (recovering from knee and ankle injury),Running back John Tippins (recovering from a shoulder injury in last week's ASU game)

Players removed from the injury list this week include:

Offensive lineman Billy Knotts (knee),Offensive lineman Calvin Armstrong (concussion),

Price indicated the only veterans not expected to be ready for Saturday's game with Washington are:

Defensive back Hamza Abdullah (knee injured in ASU game),Defensive back Virgil Williams (hamstring),Running back Allen Thompson (ankle)
