Quotes from Stanford head basketball coach Mike Montgomery
'This was a really good effort. Except for two stretches in the first half, we were able to run our offense, and play good defense. I was really apprehensive coming into this game. I was really concerned. To fight this crowd (18,018) and a good New Mexico team, this was a huge win. When we got behind (20-12 in the first half), we had some good shots, but they didn't go in. But we didn't lose our focus. We battled back with good defense, and we were able to make some plays. We stay together and used good judgement.'
