Nov. 21, 2001

Walnut Creek, CA - On Tuesday, the Pac-10 announced the cross country All-Academic teams. Senior Bryan Green received first team honors for the Bruins and redshirt freshman Seth Neumuller received second team honors. Sophomores Tiffany Burgess and Lena Nilsson each received honorable mention acclaim.

Green, who has a 3.43 GPA in philosophy, was UCLA's top men's runner in 2000 and 2001, qualifying individually for the NCAA championships for two consecutive seasons (2000 and 2001). At this year's championships, Green placed 84th (30:49), his highest NCAA finish. This is Green's second Pac-10 All-Academic honor (2000, second team).

Neumuller (3.96, Chemical Engineering) was a solid runner for the Bruins, finishing in the Top-30 in four races this season.

Burgess and Nilsson helped lead the Bruins to a No. 25 national ranking and a 21st place finish at the NCAA championships, the highest team finish under Coach Eric Peterson's tutelage.
