Women's Rowing Signs its Fifth Recruit

Los Angeles - Head coach Amy Fuller announced the signing of another top rower to the team, it was released today. Elizabeth Pallas Jacobs is the fifth recruit to sign with the reestablished crew team.
UCLA Athletics is extremely pleased to have Liz join the Bruin Family. She is an exemplary student at University City HS in San Diego, CA. She utilizes her discipline and determination, which has helped her to quickly excel in the sport of rowing.
Liz began rowing as a junior in high school for the San Diego Rowing Club under head coach, Greg Kogut, and assistant coach, Steven Casey. Through their program, she has quickly climbed the ranks of Junior Women in the United States.
'Liz is going to be a great addition to this team,' said head coach Amy Fuller. 'She is a very hard worker and a fierce competitor. She will undoubtedly lead by example. Liz is a talented and motivated athlete who will be integral to the success of this team over the next four years.'
The San Diego Rowing Club has quickly established its junior women's program since its founding, seven years ago. Last year, they were National Champions in the quad, and this year, with Liz stroking the fifth seat, they won both the Head of the American and the Head of the Estuary in the 8+ for the first time.
'Liz is the strongest rower on the team this year and quite possibly the strongest rower in the history of the program,' said head coach Greg Kogut. 'There is no limit to her potential.'
