Pac-10 Honors Ten USC Football Players

Nov. 26, 2001

USC junior safety Troy Polamalu was named to the All-Pac-10 first team along with junior cornerback Kevin Arbet, who was honored as the first team's special teams player (non-kicker).

Polamalu, USC's tackle leader with 98, is tied for second in the Pac-10 in tackles and also has made 3 interceptions (2 returned for TDs), 3 blocked punts and a fumble recovery. Arbet, USC's nickle back on defense, averages 8.6 yards on his 23 punt returns and 17.7 yards on his 3 kickoff returns, while many of his 23 tackles have come on special teams.

A pair of seniors--defensive end Lonnie Ford, USC's leader in sacks (7) and tackles for loss (14) and the Pac-10's leader in forced fumbles (4), and cornerback Chris Cash, who has 2 interceptions with his 47 tackles--made the All-Pac-10 second team.

Trojans on the All-Pac-10 honorable mention squad were true freshman defensive tackle Shaun Cody, junior placekicker David Davis, senior fullback Charlie Landrigan, junior linebacker Mike Pollard, senior cornerback Kris Richard and sophomore offensive tackle Jacob Rogers.
