Three Women's Soccer Players Recognized for Academic Success

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA women's soccer players Bethany Bogart (San Diego, Calif.), Brittany Whalen (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Sarah-Gayle Swanson (Denver, Colo.) received All-Pac-10 Academic Honorable Mention acclaim Wednesday, as announced by the Conference office.

This is the second such honor for Bogart and Whalen, as both earned honorable mention honors last year as well. This is Swanson's first All-Pac-10 Academic honor.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

The UCLA women's soccer team is the only Pac-10 team still alive in the NCAA Tournament. The third-seeded Bruins host No. 6 Florida this Sunday in the quarterfinals beginning at 1:00 p.m. That match will be played at UCLA's Frank W. Marshall Soccer Field at Drake Stadium.
