Los Angeles - UCLA head men's tennis coach Billy Martin announced the signing of Aaron Yovan to a letter of intent Friday. He will be a freshman in the 2002-03 season.
Yovan, who is a senior at University High School in Irvine, Calif., is ranked No. 29 in the country in the boys' 18s singles rankings. As a sophomore, Yovan led University to the CIF team title. Individually as a junior, he won the league championship and was a CIF semifinalist. He has been University's No. 1 singles player the past three years.
'We feel very fortunate to have him join our team,' Martin said. 'He is one of the best juniors in Southern California and we're looking forward to having him help us win a national championship in years to come.'
