TUCSON, Ariz.- The fourth-ranked Arizona volleyball team learned today that it will have to continue its postseason road trip in the 2001 NCAA Championship Tournament. The fifth-seeded Wildcats were not selected as a host school for regional play, with the honors instead going to No. 4 seed USC.

Arizona will face 12th-ranked Pacific on Thursday, Dec. 6, in the L.A. Sports Arena at 5 p.m. PST. The host Women of Troy will face Ohio State in the other match at 7:30 p.m. PST. The winners of the two matches on Thursday will meet in the regional final on Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. PST.

The Wildcats (23-4), who defeated Eastern Illinois and Illinois in the first and second rounds, are making their third consecutive and ninth overall regional semifinal appearance. Pacific (28-7), one of only four Division I teams to appear in all 21 NCAA Championship Tournaments, are making their 19th appearance in the Sweet 16 after defeating Alabama A&M and Louisville in the first and second rounds.
