Sabrina Hernandez To Leave Volleyball Program

Dec. 6, 2001

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State assistant volleyball coach Sabrina Hernandez has announced her decision to leave the program to pursue other opportunities.

'This was a very tough decision for me. I've loved the kids I've gotten to work with during my time here,' Hernandez said. 'I'm so happy I got to see them have so much success this year.'

Hernandez had served as OSU's setting coach for the past three seasons, with first-year starting setter Laura Collins earning honorable mention All-Pacific-10 recognition this season.

'We're really going to miss Sabrina. She was instrumental in the team's success and helping them get to the NCAA Tournament this year,' said head coach Nancy Somera.

Somera said she will begin the search for a new assistant coach immediately.
