Levens Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA STATE senior guard Amanda Levens has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 3-9, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Levens, from Belvidere, Ill., notched a game-high 28 points as the SunDevils (7-2 overall, 0-0 Pac-10) downed Kansas, 73-52, on Dec. 5 to wintheir fifth straight. Levens shot 60.0 percent from the field (9-of-15),and scored 19 points in the opening half. She connected on a career-best6 of 9 three-point baskets (66.7 percent) and made 4 of 5 free throws(80.0 percent). Levens also contributed five assists, four rebounds andtwo steals in the win.

Levens has scored at least 20 points four times this season and has ledthe defending Pac-10 Co-Champions in scoring in seven of nine games.ASU's five-game winning streak is its longest since winning sevenstraight Pac-10 games last season.

The Player of the Week honor is the second of Levens' career and the 20thall-time selection for Arizona State.
